About

This summer, Fr. Franks, the pastor of Wichita’s Mary Immaculate Chapel, will be riding on an epic 500-mile bike journey on the Camino de Santiago to raise funds to restore and revitalize the church! 🚴‍♂️🌍

Here are our fundraising goals:

1️⃣ Repairing a Leaky Roof: $20,000

Let’s fix the persistent roof leaks and ensure a dry rectory.💧🔧

2️⃣ New Baptismal Font: $11,000
Elevate the Sacrament of Baptism with a lovely font, one that complements the redesigned interior of the church. 🌊💦

3️⃣ Remodeling the Sacristy: $35,000
Transform the temporary sacristy into a welcoming and functional space for priests, servers and sacristans.🔨🏰

4️⃣ Building a Choir Loft: $100,000
Create a magnificent loft for our talented choir, raising the Church’s seating capacity to make room for a growing congregation. 🎶🎵👼

In gratitude, all donors will be remembered in daily Masses during the pilgrimage.🙏🛐
Generous donors contributing $100 or more will gain access to our daily blog updates.💻📆

Together, let’s renew our beloved chapel and create a lasting legacy! 💒✨

The Camino de Santiago, also called the Way of St. James, is a well-known pilgrimage route with a long history and deep spiritual meaning. It refers to a network of paths that lead to the sacred shrine of St. James the Great in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. People from different backgrounds, including religious pilgrims, hikers, and cultural enthusiasts, have been going on this pilgrimage for many centuries. Father Franks is leading a group of 12 Traditional Catholic men on a pilgrimage, where they will be riding their bikes for the last 500 miles (800 km) of the Camino. They will be taking the Northern Way, starting from Bilbao on July 16. After biking for nine consecutive days, they will arrive in Santiago de Compostela on July 24 when they will celebrate the Feast of St. James in front of his sacred relics.

Fr. Paul-Isaac Franks grew up in Nottingham, England. He attended the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester and Manchester University. It was during the work for his master’s degree that he began attending Mass at a chapel of the SSPX. He was ordained a priest in Winona, Minnesota’s St. Thomas Aquinas Seminary by Bishop Alfonso de Galarreta in 2016. Since that time, he has been stationed in St. Marys, KS, from where he services the Wichita, KS mission of the SSPX. He was instrumental in creating the SSPX’s Crisis in the Church Podcast Series. In his spare time he writes music, and sings folk songs round the fire.

In 2018 Fr. Franks rode the 1,000 miles from the Southern tip of England up to the Northern tip of Scotland to raise the money for the much-needed initial renovation of the chapel.
